Fuzzy Logic Control of Mechanical Ventilation during Anesthesia

A controller structure for fuzzy logic control of mechanical ventilation during anesthesia is proposed. The performance of the controller is shown to be comparable to that of human operators (anesthetists). It is demonstrated to outperform an anesthetist if his attention is caught by other critical tasks.
